Students face penalties over racist remarks
ANDERSON, Ind. - Several anderson high school students could face punishment including possible suspensions or expulsions for a racial incident on the school grounds.
interim superintendent Lennon Brown said that at least one student covered his head with a sheet fashioned like a ku klux klan hood last thursday and shouted "white power" and other inflammatory racial remarks.
Brown says school officials tell him the actions appeared to have resulted from a student dare.
But Principal Pat fassnacht said the incident was no joke. He said the school has contacted parents of students who were involved or who might have provoked it.
