Police roster: Some students creative in causing trouble
While students are enjoying summer vacation, Gwinnett County Schools police have been busy investigating cases lingering from the school year.
The following are recently released incident reports of arrests or crimes under police investigation. Many students involved in these incidents also faced disciplinary action from their schools that could affect them during the new school year:
• Police were seeking warrants to arrest three teens who covered two staircases with cooking oil, eggs, flour, oil and shaving cream as a prank near the final days of school. The students — two 17-year-old females and an 18-year-old female — face charges of reckless conduct and disruption of public schools.
• A Brookwood High School senior was removed from graduation because the 17-year-old was allegedly intoxicated during commencement. The student failed a breath test. Police issued the student a citation and released him to his parents.
• A 15-year-old Meadowcreek High School student was arrested after he allegedly triggered the sprinkler system in the boys bathroom. Police said the ninth-grade male held a lighter on the mercury in the sprinkler head. The fire alarm sounded causing the building to be evacuated. Flooding occurred in the bathroom and hallway of the school. Damages were estimated at $2,500.
• A Norcross High School student was arrested after police found a partially consumed bottle of Tequila, an empty bottle of Jagermeister liquor, an empty container of rolling papers, a beer bong funnel and a marijuana sifter in the trunk of his car. Police said the student admitted that "he used to smoke marijuana occasionally, but had stopped," according to an incident report by school resource officer Chuck McCallum. The student also told police that he drank in the past, but said the bottles had been in his car for a long time. The student, who was a senior three days from graduating, was issued a citation for underage possession.
• A 17-year-old female Central Gwinnett High School student was arrested for carrying a knife with about a four-inch lock blade on school grounds.
• A 15-year-old Dacula Middle School student was arrested and charged with public indecency after witnesses said the boy unzipped his pants and showed his penis to them.

The passenger in the car was carrying a marijuana cigarette. A 15-year-old 9th-grade male was charged in the incident.
• A 15-year-old student who allegedly skipped class to go outside and smoke marijuana was under police investigation after she reported to the school nurse's office complaining that she was ill.
