Study: Med students sharing a bit too much info on Facebook
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Would you visit a doctor who dresses like a pimp or wears a lab coat labeled “Kevorkian medical clinic?”
University of florida researchers found several such items of interest when they trolled the Facebook pages of the school’s medical students.
Researchers found shots of future doctors grabbing their breasts and crotches or posing with a dead animal. They also found many photos of students drinking heavily.
Their study found almost half of medical students had Facebook pages, but only 37 percent of those students limited viewership to friends.
Most of the pages provided lifestyle details, including sexual orientation, dating relationships and political opinions.
One group was titled, “I’m a doctor and I hope my patients don’t see me on Facebook.”
