Milford official proposes student alcohol testing
MILFORD, conn. - Milford's superintendent of schools is proposing that students be subjected to breath testing for alcohol at school functions.
Superintendent harvey polansky is asking the school board to approve his plan to allow Breathalyzer tests at school functions to enforce bans on alcohol possession or use.
If the school board agrees, students could be subjected to breath testing if adults suspect they may have been drinking.
school officials say although alcoholic beverages are barred from school grounds and events, that doesn't stop some students from showing up a bit tipsy.
